I didn’t skip any parts…!

Sending love and good wishes for your efforts there, Drew. As an anthropologist, my dad saw various sites where similar decisions were made. Such choices are essentially irrevocable, of course. A change is made to a place forever. Blessings on the continued energy toward honoring Eagle Rock. And, somehow, peaceful hearts, no matter the outcome.

I’d love to share with you in the not-too-distant future about a recording project that I’m helping my friend, White Buffalo Stands, to produce. He’s a Northern Cheyenne drum keeper from Montana. Cheyenne is his first language. Much of his childhood was with his grandparents who trained him in the ways of his people, and as drum keeper he leads many ceremonies.

We met when he heard me (and Joe Jencks) sing in Ojai, California, back in March, and a whole journey began for him after that night. And for me also, I know, as the ways continue to reveal themselves. He and I have quickly become brother and sister.

I’m overwhelmed! Just yesterday I hiked on part of the woodland trail that Kennecott wants to use for hauling our treasures away! There were about thirty of us and we also walked on the North Country Trail leading off of the Woodland trail (as Kennecott calls it) with Steve Garske the botonist as well as others who are fighting Kennecott! Your song gives us a rallying cry! Thank You!!
